What we measured, and what we found

Every business is scored out of 100 on five parts, weighted by how much each one actually moves a customer. Nobody tells a local owner these numbers, so almost none of them know where they stand.

Speed25

How long a customer on a phone waits before giving up. The heaviest part, and the one most businesses fail.

Search20

Whether you come up for the thing you actually do, in the town you actually serve.

Standing20

How much the rest of the web vouches for you. Near zero for almost every local business.

Reviews20

What customers said, how many, and whether your own site shows any of it.

Your listing15

Hours, phone and address, matching in every place a customer might look.

68%
of auto repair shops have no website at all

Of the 6,995 we measured, only 32% had a site on a domain they control. The rest are a Google listing and nothing else, while their competitors are findable.

39
is what the median roofer with a website scores on speed

Out of 100, and speed is the heaviest part of the score. Having a website is not the finish line. Most of them are slow enough on a phone that the customer gives up before the page arrives.

Measured up to 2026-09-28, across 39,449 businesses in 16 trades. Medians are for the businesses that do have a website of their own, because comparing somebody who has one against a pool that is half businesses with none flatters them and hides the gap to the competitors they actually have.

The one thing

The single change that would move your score most, in plain English.

One email. No call, no sales rep, nobody ringing you next Tuesday. If you want us to do something about what it says, both options are at the top of this page and the prices are published. If you do not, keep the number and do it yourself. Need more than either of them? That is a conversation.
